Wyndham Shanghai Hongqiao-Near Necc – Hotel near airport in Shanghai

The hotel rooms are big but too old, overlooking a busy railway line with loud train noises at night, needing better insulation or drapes. However, I was pleasantly surprised to get an oversize suite for the price of a standard room.

My stay at the hotel was quite a mixed experience. The rooms, although nice, were unexpectedly noisy due to their location above the ballroom, leading to disturbances from late-night parties and early morning staff activities. On the plus side, we were upgraded to an oversize suite which was a pleasant surprise. The service was average with language proficiency limitations, but the hotel's proximity to the airport was convenient despite being far from central Shanghai. The dining options were decent but had limited operating hours. Overall, a somewhat average stay with some ups and downs.

The service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond by helping me with my train ticket and handling a small issue promptly. The location, though noisy and not very intimate, was convenient for those wanting to be near the Hongqiao airport and the National Exhibition Center. The dining experience varied, with plenty of choices to suit most guests, but some meals were not appetizing. The facilities were adequate, offering the usual amenities expected from a standard hotel.
